Every two years, CASA sponsors a prize for the best essay by a junior scholar in the field of Central African Studies. Anyone who has published a paper and is either a) grad student or b) within five years of earning their PhD is eligible for the prize. The author of the winning essay receives a $300 award. CASA is proud to be able to recognize the fine work of early-career scholars in this way.
